Writing: It can be
for fun, as a hobby, or it can be a job. Many people write because they have Hypergraphia, while others choose to write because they enjoy it.
Almost all jobs you
encounter will require writing but none more than writing itself, as an author, an editor, or a journalist. If you can’t
write you probably won’t pick one of these jobs for your profession.
The majority of people
who write do it because they like to read. My belief is that people write because they want to improve upon the content of
what is already available and written. For example, if a person thinks the journalists for their local newspaper aren’t
very good they might aspire to be a journalist to show they can do better. Another example is people who want to expand on
the material that already exists. This is what many Doujinshi artists are doing all over the world.
I fall into the second
category. I want to expand on the material that is already there. I like to write fantasy and poetry. They both give me the
freedom to write what I want. There are no rules or limitations that say what I can and can’t do to my characters. Some
people like the structure that historical fiction or science fiction gives you. I also like poetry because it is free flowing
and doesn’t require rhyming. It doesn’t even have to make sense and
people still think it’s great.
